SCMP.com says that the man from China won a lottery jackpot of 4.6 million yuan (about $722K in US dollars) and immediately filed for divorce from his wife. They were separated (but remained married) after the man starting seeing his ex girlfriend again during the marriage. The wife didn’t know anything about the prize money, so she signed the divorce papers.
The man went to claim his prize money the day after the divorce!
His wife didn’t know anything about the jackpot until after somebody called her and congratulated her on her husband’s good luck! As soon as she found what he had done, she took her ex husband back to court and demanded half of the lottery jackpot money.
While she didn’t get half, the article says that she WAS awarded 1.15 million yuan (about $180K in US dollars) by the court!
