Have you heard of some big music festival in Iceland? It’s Iceland’s Secret Solstice Music Festival, so if you haven’t heard of it, that’s probably because it’s “secret”, right? Or you haven’t heard of it because this is only the third year it’s been going on. They also call it the Midnight Sun music festival because it spans over three days during the 24 hour sunlight summer solstice, AKA it’s daylight all the time for three days. That’s pretty awesome, right?
Okay, now that we know what the festival is, it’s time to talk ticket prices. Besides actually GETTING to Iceland, an actual three day pass is 24.900 kr, which is Iceland’s currency. Don’t ask me to convert that because I tried and I have no clue how. All I know is they are offering the most expensive festival ticket to exist and that is a 1 MILLION dollar ticket (in U.S. dollars).
According to the Secret Solstice website, here are some of the things this ticket includes:
- A private chartered business jet (as opposed to a non business jet?) which will take you and six of your friends home from Iceland to anywhere “on earth”.
- 24/7 access to personal drivers and fancy cars
- A luxury six room villa for seven nights during the week of the festival
- Exclusive access for you and six of your friends to the festival including chaperoned access to off limit areas.
- A private concert inside a volcano that is apparently already sold out. Has anyone ever seen the movie “Volcano”? You know the one from 1997 with Tommy Lee Jones? No thanks, I’ll go ahead and pass on the volcano concert.
- All food & drinks are free, including hyper-premium drinks (whatever THAT means).
Want to know who is headlining this festival? Brace yourselves…. Radiohead, The Deftones and Of Monsters & Men, 2004 called, they want their lineup back. For a million dollars, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, 2pac and Biggie better be headlining.
