If you’ve shopped at Target this holiday season, then you may have been a target for credit card thieves. CBS is reporting payment data was stolen from some 40 million Target customers starting on Black Friday, and is believed to have continued until December 15. Investigators believe customers’ credit card data was obtained via software installed on card swipe machines in nearly all Target outlets in the U.S. The Secret Service is among the agencies investigating the breach.
